How do I take the Gutsy Challenge?

There are three things you need to do:

1. Decide what  to do for your Gutsy Challenge and when you plan to do it.

2. Register or sign up online.

3. Invite family and friends to sponsor you online.

When can I do the Gutsy Challenge?

Depending on the type of challenge, you can take the Gutsy Challenge at any time. If you are planning  to participate in a fun run, check the dates of the event and allow plenty of time for training.

Are donations tax deductible?

All donations $2 and over are tax deductible. A tax invoice receipt will be sent to donors via email.

Where does the money from donations go?

The Gutsy Challenge is run by a registered charity organisation called GI Cancer Institute. The GI Cancer Institute raises money for clinical trials cancer research undertaken by the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG ). The AGITG is a not for profit organisation comprised of 700 medical professionals around the country. It has been undertaking clinical trials cancer research for more than 23 years.  Click here for more information about where your money goes.

I did not receive my donation receipt.

Your receipt will be automatically emailed to you once the online payment has been processed. Please check your email spam folder. If you still can’t find it, please contact us to arrange a replacement receipt.

What do I do if someone sponsors me with cash or a cheque?

If you collect donations in cash or a cheque from your sponsor, please contact the Donor Relations Coordinator on 1300 666 769 or email donations@gicancer.org.au for instructions. Or please complete the Direct Deposit form here to ensure the funds reach the GI Cancer Institute’s bank account.

Do I have to fundraise?

Fundraising for GI cancer research is the main reason for taking the Gutsy Challenge. Ask your family, friends and work colleagues to sponsor you –  even a few dollars will help motivate you to complete the challenge.

My whole family wants to do the Gutsy Challenge, can we all register?

Yes, everyone can register online as individuals or an organisation.
